aiKit Print Proof is a free online preflight tool for print shops and promo distributors. Upload a PDF, AI, PNG, or JPG, pick a size or enter your printer’s specs, and get a preflight report, a client proof with trim, bleed, and safety lines, and a print-ready PDF. A free account includes 15 proofs every month.

Print Proof works with any printer’s specs. Pick a ready-made size (business cards, postcards, flyers, rack cards, stickers, labels, posters) or enter the finished size, bleed, and safety your printer asks for. The defaults are 0.125 in bleed and 0.125 in safety; always use your printer’s numbers.

Adding bleed takes one upload: upload the PDF and pick the finished size. If the art stops at the trim, Print Proof extends the edge color 0.125 in into the bleed and writes a print-ready PDF with the trim and bleed boxes set. The report says it did this, so you can check the edges on the proof.

Trim is the finished size, where the job is cut. Bleed is extra art past the trim, usually 0.125 in, so no white edge shows if the cut shifts. Safety is a margin inside the trim, usually 0.125 in, where text and logos stay so they are never cut off. On the proof, trim is a red line, safety is a blue dashed line, and bleed is a washed-out band.

Print files need about 300 ppi at the printed size. Print Proof checks every image at the size it is placed, warns under 250 ppi, and fails under 150 ppi.

RGB files print duller because screens mix light and presses mix ink (CMYK), and ink cannot reach some bright screen colors. Bright blues, greens, and purples shift the most. Print Proof flags RGB images and colors and lists spot colors, so you can warn your customer before the job runs.

Customer approval with Print Proof works from a link: send it by text or email. Your customer opens it on any phone or computer, sees the proof with your shop name, and taps Approve or Request changes with a note. They do not need an account, and their answer is saved with the job.

Print Proof does not use AI on your customer’s art. Every check is measured by code, and the original file is never changed. The tool only places the art at the exact size, and extends edge color into missing bleed or fits art to the safety line when you choose that. Low resolution and RGB color are reported, never quietly changed.

aiKit never emails, markets to, or quotes your customers. Your customer sees your shop name on the proof page.

Customer art stays private. Uploaded files and the proofs made from them are stored for 30 days and then deleted, files open only through signed links, and customer proof pages are hidden from search engines. The privacy policy has the details.

Print Proof works for promotional products with a flat imprint area: enter the imprint size as a custom size. It does not make product mockups or vectorize logos.

Print Proof accepts PDF, AI (saved as PDF-compatible), PNG, and JPG, up to 60 MB and 4 pages. Pages 1 and 2 are used as the front and back. If an image has no resolution saved in it, the tool assumes 300 ppi and says so in the report.

The print-ready PDF is the art at the finished size plus bleed, with the PDF trim box set to the finished size and the bleed box set to the full canvas. That is what most printers’ software reads to size and cut the job.
