Setting a goal — plans, milestones, and your coach

Alongside building a project, aiKit can turn any goal — a business target, learning a skill, a student's exam, or a personal practice — into a real, dated plan. This guide covers how it works from the moment you set a goal to the ongoing coaching relationship afterward.

Set a goal
1

One box for every kind of goal

From /start, choosing 'Set a Goal' takes you to an intake that treats a business goal and a personal one identically — same box, same AI, same quality of plan. You pick a category (Business, Learning, Student & Study, Skill, Personal & Wellness, Creative, or Financial), describe the outcome you want in your own words, and optionally add a target date and a short note on why it matters. If you're not sure what counts as a goal here, the intake screen shows real example goals across every category you can tap to fill the form instantly.

The category isn't just a label — it changes your coach's voice. Business and financial goals get direct, numbers-forward coaching; learning and study goals get a mastery-focused voice that sequences from foundational to advanced; personal and wellness goals get a gentler, non-clinical voice that never treats a missed day as a failure.

2

What happens when you set a goal

aiKit writes a blueprint for your goal — a short overview of the real path from here to done, 3-5 strategic pillars, an honest motivating line, and a First Win: one specific thing you can finish in well under 20 minutes, today. The First Win is shown first, before the full plan, so there's always an immediate next step rather than a wall of milestones to read through.

Underneath the blueprint, aiKit builds 4-7 milestones with real dates — worked out backwards from your target date if you set one, or spread over a sensible timeline if you didn't — each with a few concrete tasks and, where useful, 2-4 specific how-to tips for actually doing it.

3

Milestones and tasks are yours to reshape

Nothing about the generated plan is fixed. Every milestone has four quick actions: Make it easier (aiKit rewrites it with smaller, lower-friction steps), Split in two (breaks it into two milestones and divides its tasks between them), Push the date (lets you move its due date, with a choice to compress the milestones after it or push your whole finish line back), and Delete.

You can also add a milestone by typing a plain sentence describing what you want ('I also want to learn fingerpicking') — aiKit drafts a full milestone from it, which you review and approve before it's added to your plan. Individual tasks can be checked off, added, or edited freely inside each milestone.

4

Your coach

Every goal has an ongoing coach thread — post an update any time (a win, a struggle, a question) and aiKit replies specifically to what you said, not a generic response, and may add a few new tasks if your update genuinely calls for them.

A Coach intensity control lets you choose how much the coach pushes: Gentle (a witness, never mentions a shortfall unless you bring it up), Steady (the default — warm but honest about both progress and setbacks), or Push me (direct and specific about the numbers when you're behind pace). You can change this any time from your goal's page.

5

A companion tool built just for your goal

When it would genuinely help, aiKit proposes one bespoke tool for your goal — for example, a daily word-drill quiz for a language goal, or an outreach tracker for a sales goal — described up front so you know exactly what you'd get. Tapping 'Build my tool' runs it through the same real generation pipeline used for any aiKit project, and it's linked back to your goal once it's ready. You can edit the description before building, or skip it entirely — a goal never requires a companion tool.

6

Field Guide — real outside resources

Where relevant, a milestone may include a Field Guide: a couple of genuinely real, named external resources (an app, a book, a course, or a practice) that would help with that specific milestone — never an invented product, and never dressed up as something built into aiKit. This is aiKit pointing you at the best real option, even when that option isn't its own.

7

Going deeper on any task

Any task can be expanded with a 'Go deeper' button, which generates a genuinely in-depth, on-demand lesson — never auto-generated up front, only when you ask. Each lesson opens with the specific misconception people usually get wrong, a real detailed walkthrough (not a summary), a self-test question with its answer, and one 'related door' pointing at a natural next thing to learn. It's written once and saved, so opening it again doesn't regenerate it.

8

A note on personal & wellness goals

Choosing the Personal & Wellness category shows a plain disclaimer before you continue: this is a practice companion, not therapy or medical care. It's built to help you build a gentle habit and notice your own real progress — for anything serious, it also points you toward leaning on a real person: a counselor, a doctor, or someone you trust.
